The University of Joensuu was established in 1969. It includes six faculties and nine independent units. The University offers undergraduate and graduate degree in eight different fields:

FINNISH LANGUAGE STUDIES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS Finnish courses for International Students are organised to exchange and degree students by the Language Centre. International students can only be enrolled to the language courses if they have been accepted as exchange or degree students in one of the six faculties.

VISITING STUDENT APPLICANTS
A visiting student is a non-degree, international student who intends to study at the University of Joensuu for one or two semesters. A visiting student does not participate in the bilateral or international student exchange programmes (e.g. Erasmus, ISEP).
Application deadlines were May 31, 2005 (for Autumn Semester and Full Academic Year) and October 31, 2005 (for Spring Semester).

Application deadline for studies starting in the autumn 2005 was December 31, 2004.Please check the separate deadlines and application forms for International Master's Degree Programmes.New information on applying for degree studies starting in the autumn 2006 will be available by October 2005.
